oh july.

you have been pretty good to me. i would however, like a few more days of good weather so that i can go in the pool though. i’ll have you know i have only been in once this summer, and i think that was in june. in all honesty, the weather has been lovely, very fall-ish which i’m sure you know (nothing against you and the other summer months) is my favorite time of year.  your days have been warm, your nights have been cool – veeery good sleeping weather. i will miss you july. until next year . . .

Pssst. . .Wanna know a secret?

P7215616edit

- i keep a list of things to tweet in case i don’t have anything to tweet

- i had a rat tail in kindergarten and i thought i was cool. (sidenote: my dad had one at the same time and he was in his twenties – it was the early 90s people – and i used to get him to braid it because he braided his)

-i am quite possibly*the* biggest procrastinator ever (you’d think after the time i left a 30 page paper to three days before it was due i’d have learned my lesson but nope. truth is i work better under that kind of stress)

- i hate hate hate the sound of people whistling, definitely one of my biggest pet peeves.

-one time in grade three during the remembrance day assembly i had to pee so badly, but i didn’t want to get up and cause a disturbance during the assembly so i held it. near the end of the assembly i couldn’t hold it any longer so i got up to go to the bathroom however the change in position cause things to shift – holding it became impossible and i peed my pants in front of the whole school

-i do not eat red meat

-ok i have *multiple* lists of things to tweet if i run out of things to tweet

-sometimes i can’t help but swear

- i have a mild to moderate (and occasionally severe depending on the day) obsession with the olsens

- this song has been stuck in my head for approximately a week – at the moment i have no intention of attempting to remove it

- i fell down the stairs (a full out fall on my face fall) while having an in depth conversation while walking through the mall

- sometimes when i go into stores i think of how easy it would be to steal stuff from there (of course i have no intention of doing it – i just think about how i would go about doing it)

that was fun. now tell me some fun secrets about you :)

I want to show you every page in the book, however I will let you take a quick trip over to Kara’s blog so see the rest for yourself. Check it out here.

Also this week i go a lovely package in the mail from the girls at RVA.

cIMG_8430 Every piece in it is so lovely (image from rva). I just can’t wait to use up very little bit in various projects. I also got one of these darlings can you guess which one?3469772222_362377edb8_o I’ll leave you with that little guessing game. One day I’ll let you know what one I have. I would love to have them all – however. . .

Tomorrow I work in the morning and the afternoon and evening will be free to do whatever things I’d like. I’m feeling crafty things – maybe I’ll use up some of that vintage paper. We’ll see. . .

good night!!!

lovelies.

I am back from the cottage. Actually I got back on Tuesday night, late Tuesday night but I worked Wednesday night and tonight. So I’ve been busy and tired out from my little vacation. Sidenote: isn’t it weird how after a vacation you feel so blah when you get back into your normal day-to-day, almost tired out. I’m still working on getting back into routine and I was only gone for two days. It was a good two days though. I loove it up at the cottage so so much. It is so relaxing. Anyways me and my brother had to come back early because we both had to work and the rest of my family is still there until tomorrow – so they still have the camera. Therefore no pics for now except for these ones from my cell on the trip home.

0721092045 0721092041 0721092046

Actually, looking at these on the computer, I’m kind of in love with the last one. One of my favorite things ever? happy accidents like that last picture. love it.

On the way back we listened to a little of everything and a lot of this.

it makes my heart happy.

I am so so excited to see this movie – so excited in fact that I hope I’m not psyching myself up so much that I am disappointed when I actually do see it. I can’t bear the thought.

Speaking of which, how lovely?

293_deschanel_selfmag2_071409

Aaaaah. I could do a whole post about that lovely. Definite crush (its all about the indie cred).

Anyways, I am off for the night. I am catching up on the things in the online world and watching old Harry Potter’s to get my mind off of the fact that I haven’t yet seen the new one. ps. The quidditch scenes in the first couple of movies were awful – i still love them.

What are you up to tonight?

ilu.

Weekend Recap

Hello Hello Hello.

First of all, where the mother of crap is July going? Is it seriously the tomorrow? I’m going to be back at school before I know it. gaaah. Aaaanyways. . .

So this weekend was a bit of a whirlwind. A good whirlwind though.

It started with a bit of retail therapy on Friday. I got a new pair of jeans, (which i never do, i’m picky picky) two shirts for $10 and a bunch of vintage sewing patterns.

Then on Friday night I saw this lovely with my family . . .

up2

up1 I finally got photos of this layout.

P7185453

P7185454

I don’t want to say ever, but this is quite possibly my favourite layout like . . .ever. It is one of those layouts that I was thinking about for quite a long time – planning in my head etc. In the past, those layouts have been the ones that I am least pleased with. Wrong. This time the layout turned out better than I ever could’ve imagined. I made it completely out of old American Eagle shopping bags, clothes, tags, receipts etc (except for the letters obvi). Anyways I love it.

Also, on a side note: I don’t know how I ever scrapped without my sewing machine.

I worked Saturday and Sunday.

I love that Twitter has these cutey little images when its down. looove.

twitterwhale I locked my keys in the car at work. fml. Luckily my dad came and rescued me with a coat hanger.

Ok. I have to pack because I am heading to the cottage for two days. I will be back maybe Tuesday night or Wednesday.

i looove yooou.

Today I ran a race against my brother and sister. {i don’t ever ever ever run}

Today I played frisbee in the sun.

Today I made a layout that I have been thinking about for a while in my head.

Today that layout turned out better than what I had pictured in my head.

Today I spent a bit more time here.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Today I plan on doing a bit more scrapping.

A Few Things

1- I am/have been working like a madperson. This is good for the bank account, and the student loans/credit cards that I have to pay down before school starts again in the fall. This is not so good for the personal life. Sunday I worked 6-2 then went back in that night to work 10-6. From 6am on Sunday to 6am on Monday I worked 16 hours and slept for 2. Just for your info.

2-This is the layout I made for the Such Sweet Tierney DT this month. I seriously love London’s chipboard buttons and this project I made this month was so fun to make. I am totally inspired by Dina Wakley lately – and spray inks are my go to craft supply right now.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I used some of the buttons as masks for the glimmer mist – and just sprayed right over them. It worked better than I could have expected actually. Then I just went around the edges of the masked buttons with my black american crafts pen.

3 – I am soooo unbelievable excited about this. Enough said.

4 – I have been journaling a bit lately. I go through phases where I do it all the time and then another period of time where I may pick up my journal once a week. This is something that I am learning to accept. I used to feel like I needed to journal everyday or I might as well not do it at all – but that is just not how I work. Peeks soon? I think so.

5 – Ok that is not enough said about number 3. When Harry Potter first came out I tried to get into but just couldn’t. I then ended up being one of those “Ha! You read Harry Potter? Loser” Bullies. I never said that to anyone’s face, but I thought it. Fast forward to the end of grade 12. I needed something to read for the summer so I decided to pick up good ‘ol HP again. I was instantly hooked. What a difference a few years can make. I now have all of the books, plus all of the movies. I am definitely a fan and proud of it.

6 – Re: 5

I have a dilemma, I am currently in the exact middle of The Memory Keeper’s Daughter by Kim Edwards which took me a long time to get into, but I am finally getting into it and quite enjoying it. However I hear everyone reading Harry Potter and I want to so badly. Lets be serious, it won’t take me long at all to fly through it and refresh my memory – but I’m afraid I won’t be able to get back into The Memory Keepers Daughter. We’ll see what I decide.

7 – Re: 3

I saw Transformers like 2 weeks ago. But before they showed the trailer for Harry Potter. It was the first time I had seen the whole thing, I had seen bits and pieces of it but hadn’t seen the whole thing. In the past I have been disappointed with the movies compared to the books (still love them though) but you have to admit, they make it look so good in the trailers.

8 – Re: 3, 5, 6, 7

Speaking of movies there are so many I want to see this summer. Unfortunately the budget does not allow for me to go to a bunch of movies. So I’ll just have to stay away from reviews (I hate reviews – I would MUCH rather go into the movie with no expectations) and wait till they are released to DVD. Here are a few.

This one. This one. This one. This one. This one. This one. This one. Plus more that I can’t think of right now.

9 – I’m so sorry this post has turned into a post about Harry Potter. Actually, I’m not sorry its about Harry Potter. I’m sorry you had to read through it if you don’t care about it.

10- Ummmm how gorgeous are these illustrations by Jennifer Busking.

two lovelies, two posters and a layout

Here are two young ladies who are such amazing photographers. Their pictures are so beautiful and its so inspiring to me that they are so young and already have their style so developed. Its obvious to me that these ladies are gifted – how can you not say that when you look at these photos?

This is Nancy Lam she’s 18 and you can see more of her stuff in her flickr photostream.

Nancy also makes the most beautiful little collages with her photos.

This next lovely is Chrissie White and she is 15. You probably know this girl (she was on one of Elsie’s 10 thins I love lists) but holy cow this girl drips talent.

3239845838_b0fec8de88 3567970817_379ea449a4_o[How can I possibly choose right? But there’s a good chance this –above- is my fave.]

and because I can’t post about Chrissie without including this picture . . .

3568660732_7f287a5923seriously, how perfect?? sigh. i need friends who’ll play with me like this. anyone feel like moving?

I fully intended to share more things with you tonight, but what can top these two ladies? I get so unbelievably creatively charged just looking at these photos – and I’ve browsed through them a good 3000 times [exaggeration?? maybe . . .not by much though). They make me want to pick up my camera and practice just to get better. If ever take a picture half as lovely as any of these – I will be one happy boy. So with that I am out for tonight to make something nice or to take a pretty picture we’ll see where this adventure called creativity takes me.

xo Jer

PS. i tried to like the new blog design, but i just couldn't it was too much going on. i chose the minima template for a reason apparently. i'm totally inspired by holly's blog right now - i'm trying something similar to that. something more simple - plain for lack of a better word. just in case you were wondering why everything is back to the old way around here.

IDSS Page 2

This morning brought some semi-good light to take pictures of my second IDSS page from Rachel’s class so here it is:

IDSS Page 1 + A Sneak Peek

So today was Canada day here in Canada (more about that tomorrow i think) and the weather was not so pleasant so i spent the morning picking my courses for the fall (my summer is more than halfway over already – just by the way, wtf?) and I spent the latter half of the day scrapbooking and art journaling. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon since I couldn’t be outside laying by the pool. What does one’s studio look like after a day of crafting you ask? Well here you go:OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Disastrous. It looks a little better than that now though – so that’s a bonus. (I realize not everyone’s studio looks like this after a day of crafting but lets be honest shall we? it should) (I also realize i used the term studio to describe my scrap table that sits in the corner of my bedroom – i’m ok with it, you should be to). So what on Earth did I make to make such a mess you ask yourself? Well then you are in luck because here are a few of the things I cranked out of the factory today.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA I finally got started on Rachel’s summer art journaling class – I Do Solemnly Swear. This is the title page on which I misspelled solemnly. meh. I left it.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA It was really fun to just play around for myself. I haven’t been doing a lot of scrapping lately, but what I have been doing hasn’t just been for myself – they’ve all been projects for other things with deadlines etc. Mind you, its not that these aren’t fun to complete – its just different than when you’re doing something completely for yourself you know? Anyways I had a super fun time making this page.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA I also did the second page from the class, but not before good light ran out to take a picture of it. Expect it sometime tomorrow assuming my internet decides to work. We are on a satellite high speed connection here at home and its good when it works – but it seems to be working less and less these days. Suuuper frustrating. What the mother of crap did people do before the internet? because I could not survive without it.

I also got to put some finishing touches on my first project for Such Sweet Tierney this month as well as a few other projects I can’t share right away. London sent me an amazing little packet of buttons this month and I have been playing around with them in the little free time I have. I have put together a couple things and this is my favourite so far – so fun to make. Here is a sneak peek at the layout:OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Check out London’s blog for the big reveal coming either Friday or next Wednesday. We’re all about the suspense over at Such Sweet Tierney – keep you guessing lol.

All this plus I got to enjoy some Canada day festivities including fireworks. I’ll probably blog more about that tomorrow too. But for now I am off to bed for the night.

xoxo Jer

ps. Thank you all so much for the sweet comments lately they really mean so much and make blogging a more rewarding thing to do – because all you bloggers know that blogging is sometimes the last thing you want to do. But seriously while I’m ultimately blogging for myself, your comments make me a better blogger so thank you.

pps. I got the first season of Samantha Who for my birthday and I’ve been watching it over and over. it is hysterical. check it out if you haven’t seen it.
