Warning: This post may be more like a newsletter than a regular, run of the mill blog post – just saying.
1- Happy NSD! Well belated NSD. You’ll be happy to know that I did do some scrapping. I am basically in love with this layout. Maybe because its the latest (which is usually the one I love the most) or maybe its because I love that picture (like *really* love that picture – possibly my fave ever) or maybe because I love that woman. Who knows? Maybe I just like the page. Either way, I made it with March kit from Jenni Bowlin Studios (good kit btw – and its still available so go and check it out).
2- Speaking of Jenni Bowlin the review for the March Kit will be up at The Everyday Scrapper tomorrow (my interview with Jenni is up now, so you can go and check that out!). It has been a looooong time coming. But it is finally up – which reminds me I need to email Jenni and let her know.
3 –Moving on. Today on Jen’s (who is totally cool – and I know I’ve mentioned it before, but seriously) blog she tagged readers to post videos on their blog because everyone always types her – but she wants to hear them. I totally wonder what all my blogBFFs sound like so I’m tagging all of you to post videos of yourself doing a vlog or something. I know some of you already have so link me up. I didn’t take the time to make a vlog (another time maybe) instead I’ll post two outtakes from my Jenni Bowlin Review. I’m totally embarrassed by the first one – mainly because I sound and look like a bag’o’douche – however I’m sharing the love with you guys. So here are two videos of me being an idiot – as per usual – so enjoy!
4- Yesterday I actually hung something on my walls here in my bedroom/studio. Inspiration wire!! Pictures to come soon – because right now the light is super crappy.
5- I can’t think of what else I needed to tell you.
6- Oh yeah. I was asked to be on the design team for Such Sweet Tierney! A while ago I sent in a few layouts, didn’t think too much about it and then this past week London emailed me and asked me to be on the team. I am so excited because I love London’s product. If you don’t know London makes the coolest epoxy chipboard buttons (which you can find in her Etsy shop here)
7 – Oh yeah. The big news. The secrets I’ve been dangling in front of you for so long. That’s what I was planning on telling you tonight. So . . .
I am going to be opening an Etsy shop!!
I can’t give you too many details right now (got to keep you guessing) but here’s what I can tell you:
- My shop will be called the Sweet Nothings Shop and I will be selling original and prints of original paintings (I’ll let you think about that one for a while)
- I am thinking of June for opening dates if everything goes as planned.
- I am finishing up my first series and I am working on developing a second and third series.
- I am basically bursting at the seams with excitement.
I have been thinking about opening a shop for quite a while, but I haven’t had a lot of time to develop ideas for it. I had a vague idea of what I wanted to sell, but without any time to develop those ideas I hadn’t gotten very far. But after some playing and some long inspiring nights I’m so excited that I have a concept to run with and now I have some (what I hope) are some great paintings. Here is the very first sneak peek at one of my paintings!!!
So I hope you come along with me for this adventure – because I plan on keeping you guys – my blog readers in on the secrets from now on and there’s a good chance I’ll need advice from you seasoned Etsy pros out there.
So on that super exciting note (exciting to me anyway and I hope at least a little exciting to you too) I am going to call it a night because I have an awful 8 hour day of unpaid orientation at work tomorrow. I’m sure it will be the same as the past two years however somehow they still think it necessary that I attend. gah!
