i’ve been thinking.

I’ve been thinking a lot about painting lately. I’ve often described it as my first love. It is what I did all throughout high school for art class and whenever I needed to do something creative before I ever started scrapbooking or blogging or anything else really crafty. I have been missing it a lot lately and one of my goals this year is to start painting a bit more (a reasonable amount considering my school schedule and other hobbies haha) and really developing my style. Here are some artists whose style I really love.

For fun, and/or nostalgic purposes here are two pictures that I have of paintings I did in high school.

100_1416000_0681The first one is a copy of Millet’s the Gleaners that I did in grade 11 and the second one is one that I did for fun for an art auction we did in grade 12.  I don’t have many pictures of paintings that I did throughout highschool, and I really haven’t done any since. The only thing that I have done recently was this album art for a mixed CD I made for my friend Vanessa.P9036104 OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Dear painting, I miss you and I love you. Lets have a regular dates shall we?

Love,

your old friend Jeremy.

Anticipation

Here are some albums who have been slated to release in 2010 that I am super excited for.image image If their album cover isn’t cool enough, the songs on Merriweather Post Pavillion are really good as well. The boys from Animal Collective are up to it again, and their new album Campfire Songs is set to be released on Jan 26.

image image You probably recognize these two from their collaboration with Jenny Lewis on Rabbit Fur Coat, but they are now releasing a solo album. The Watson Twins have Talking to You, Talking to Me set to release on February 9.  I loved them on Rabbit Fur Coat so I am kind of excited to see what they do on their solo album.image image We all know the high amount of love that I have for Zooey well the love I have for her music is equal to that. Volume One is fantastic and Volume Two is to be released on March 23.

image image The follow up to Oracular Spectacular by MGMT called Congratulations does not have a set date for release but they have announced that it will be released sometime in 2010. I love MGMT. I don’t talk about them on here a lot but I really love their music. Its really good to get me pumped up. Also, Time to Pretend is currently my ringtone. I loove it.

image I can hardly contain myself. There is no album name, no release date, but I do know that there will be a new Arcade Fire released sometime this year. This is the album I have been waiting for. Funeral is definitely in my top 3 albums of all time, Neon Bible is fantastic and I am expecting no less from this album.

Some other albums that I am looking forward to this year are:

Broken Bells – a collaboration between James Mercer (of the Shins) and Danger Mouse. I looove The Shins so I’m super excited about this. There is one song on their MySpace page (the link above) that I quite like so I’m pretty stoked to see what the rest of the album is like. Broken Bells to be released on March 9.

Fleet Foxes – There is no date set, or title released but it is rumoured that there will be a new album released in 2010. Fleet Foxes were one of my fave artists in 2009 so obviously I’m excited to hear the new album.

The New Pornographers – Interesting name, but their music is pretty good. I’d be interested to see what the new album is like. No title or release date announced.

The Cold War Kids – I loooove their sound and they have a new album released yesterday (as I am writing this it is not yet released just fyi. so I am still anticipating it lol.) Behave Yourself released Tuesday January 19.

Jonsi Birgisson – Probably best known for being a part of the Icelandic band Sigur Ros (looooove) is releasing a solo album called Go on March 23. I checked out his MySpace page and the snippets there sound amazing.

Obsessed? Not at all.

It seems I have been blogging regularly lately about my crushes that I have on certain ladies. I have blogged about these two before and you can be sure I’ll blog about them again. 15 plus years of a relationship such as ours does not go away – its for life. lol.4jb86ssisses mk96 2afmm0x 2pz06ds ashley-olsen-harpers-bazaar-02all via Olsens Anonymous

Gorgeous right?  Here is the layout I mentioned yesterday. One of the three that I did this weekend – my personal fave from the weekend.000_0755 This is scraplifted from a  fantastic layout by Mandi and the journaling reads:

“I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to the Olsen Twins. I grew up watching them on Full House and in numerous movies and to this day, years after I first fell in love with them watching It Takes Two, I am still fascinated. These days I check the Olsens Anonymous blog daily, buy any magazine they are in, post their pics on my inspiration board, and save pictures from online galleries. They are successful, beautiful, super stylish and I would love to hang out with these icons for a day or two. I don’t like to use the word obsessed when describing how I feel about them, but I can understand where there might be some confusion.”

So if you are reading this and can hook me up with these girls I would be eternally grateful. lol. Or if one of you, MK or A, happen to be reading this and wanna email me that would be sweet, whatev.

Also, this is my 100th post. So YAY for that!!! This past year my blog has really taken off and I don’t do it enough, but thank you so much for everyone that reads these quite often random thoughts that I put out there into the interweb and for coming back after I haven’t blogged for a week and for leaving comments. Every comment is read and very much appreciated. So thank you very much for that.

xo Jer
