i’ve fallen in love.

back in love actually – with Flickr. For the past couple of years Flickr was my main source of inspiration for all things crafty. There was rarely a day that went by where I didn’t check it at least once (and often numerous times) a day. The past, I would say 6 months, I just haven’t been feeling it. I’ve been using WeHeartIt a lot in the place of where I would have used Flickr in the past (I find the search on WeHeartIt turns up better results than on Flickr although there are sooo many other things that I don’t like about WeHeartIt) and I was only uploading things very irregularly. Over the past 6 months I had only uploaded about ten times.

This past week-ish, all that has changed. I have been browsing on Flickr everyday, finding myself some lovelies to inspire me creatively and I Have even uploaded a few times in the past few weeks. So here, to inspire you, are some of my most recent faves from Flickr:imageimageimage image image image image image image

Hope these inspire you on this gorgeous hump day!!

An Homage

In light of my heavy post yesterday here is something pretty for you all.

When I first started blogging just about a year and a half ago, one of my main sources of inspiration was Flickr. Lately I have been using sites like We Heart It which are somewhat easier to navigate and find images that specifically relate to what you are looking for.

In an homage to those days when Flickr was my main inspiration source, here is a little mosaic of 16 images, one from each page of my faves on flickr (all with the original artists credited – which is one teeny problem I have with sites like We Heart It but thats another story).

mosaic1. em's*tattoos, 2. Emily in the pictureroom, 3. someone's in the kitchen with..., 4. dec27_08, 5. happy., 6. mirrors, 7. Ashley Olsen, 8. eighty-eight, 9. Untitled, 10. - -, 11. Untitled, 12. Ps. I ESPECIALLY love youimage Carrie is so fantastic. She is definitely one of my favourite photographers. Her photos are seriously magical and I just can’t say enough about her.

two of my favourite things.

First is flickr. Is there really any greater, broader source for inspiration? Second is Fd’s flickr toys mosaic maker. I love seeing my favourites from Flickr together in one mosaic. And I love that I don’t have to work so that I can share them with yoooou. Enjoy friends :) ilu.

two lovelies, two posters and a layout

Here are two young ladies who are such amazing photographers. Their pictures are so beautiful and its so inspiring to me that they are so young and already have their style so developed. Its obvious to me that these ladies are gifted – how can you not say that when you look at these photos?

This is Nancy Lam she’s 18 and you can see more of her stuff in her flickr photostream.

Nancy also makes the most beautiful little collages with her photos.

This next lovely is Chrissie White and she is 15. You probably know this girl (she was on one of Elsie’s 10 thins I love lists) but holy cow this girl drips talent.

and because I can’t post about Chrissie without including this picture . . .

3568660732_7f287a5923seriously, how perfect?? sigh. i need friends who’ll play with me like this. anyone feel like moving?

I fully intended to share more things with you tonight, but what can top these two ladies? I get so unbelievably creatively charged just looking at these photos – and I’ve browsed through them a good 3000 times [exaggeration?? maybe . . .not by much though). They make me want to pick up my camera and practice just to get better. If ever take a picture half as lovely as any of these – I will be one happy boy. So with that I am out for tonight to make something nice or to take a pretty picture we’ll see where this adventure called creativity takes me.

PS. i tried to like the new blog design, but i just couldn't it was too much going on. i chose the minima template for a reason apparently. i'm totally inspired by holly's blog right now - i'm trying something similar to that. something more simple - plain for lack of a better word. just in case you were wondering why everything is back to the old way around here.

So here is my new blog background. I’m not sure if I like it yet, but I probably just need to get used to it. We’ll see. Aaaanyways although I got super frustrated with HTML sometimes it was good to do it by myself. ha!

Next is a new banner.

Ps.These have been inspiring me as of late.

Shares!

Just because I have been a blog slacker the last couple of weeks, doesn't mean that other people haven't. Aaaaand it certainly doesn't mean I haven't been reading an assortment of blogs. Here are a few of my favorite things I've read or discovered thanks to other peoples blogs over the past few weeks.

1-This beautiful flickrstream from Kim's blog. Tons of eye candy there. How beautiful are these pictures? Especially that chair - I could die.

2-I am always on the lookout for new music. This week I found these guys. From HollySarah.

3- This hilarious video from Leigh-Ann's blog. This is - dare I say - almost as good as Scarlett.

4 - This post on Rachel's Blog - *epic*. These ones are too funny.

"i peed my pants in grade 8 because I drank tooooo much slurpie and i couldn't walk home fast enough :("

"When I was 7 I danced naked infront of my class, I didn't see the big deal...little kids do it, but I got into trouble and haven't told anyone since. Not even my mum."

"i work in retail. And sometimes, i have to go to the back of the shoe room and laugh at the customers who are funny looking."

"2- i used to have a rat tail (so gross. . . and i'm *very* ashamed) 3- my mom still has my rat tail (even worse)"

Ok, who am I kidding? The last one is mine. I was sharing other people's so I had to share my own.

5 - These layouts by Jamie Waters. I love her layouts.

Ok. That is two posts in two days. I am on a roll. Tonight I have a bit of homeork to work on and I also want to do some crafty things. yay!

2-She and Him

3-Ingrid

4- Mr. Larson

Ok kiddos, I am out, back to the paper writing and midterm studying.

Lovelies.

Hi.

So it has been a while but I don't really feel like I have a ton of things to say. School is busy, but good busy. As if I would opt to take an extra class when I already have a full course load, but who could pass this opportunity up? Not me. 5 projects a week for 6 weeks put on by this sweet girl? I had to be a part of it.

I have literally been entranced by her work ever since I first saw her layout in the fresh face section of CK back in October 2005. Everything she does is super inspired and in turn is even more inspiring. I love Elsie the scrapbooker, Elsie the photographer, Elsie the designer, and most recently Elsie the painter. Here is a little ode to this huge influence behind my personal creative journey.

You can see all of these and more on her Flickr page, it is always good for some inspirational eye candy.

The first week of her class was so amazing, I haven't gotten down to making anything from it yet but I can't wait to get started on some of the projects. I can only imagine that it gets better from here on in, which is hard to imagine since the first week was great. This girl's ideas are no short of genious, and she is truly gifted.

I am off to bed. Class tomorrow at 10 with a long day ending at 5.

Long Time No Post.

So it has been far too long since I have posted. I've worked everyday this week and tomorrow is my first day off since last Friday. Where we last left off I had a huge amount of creative energy that needed to be put into a project. I didn't end up creating as much as I had wanted to that day but I did do a lot of inspiration searching and planning a couple of projects. You can see some of my more recent stuff here.

I also ordered the Ali Edwards travel stamps from Cocoa Daisy, very excited to get those. You can find them here.

In very exciting news, on Monday me and Siobhan went to the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto for the John Mayer concert. It was AMAZING. Continuum has been one of my favorite albums since it came out and there is rarely a day that goes by when I don't listen to at least something from it. Recently I have been listening to the John Mayer Trio cd, so so cool. The show was amazing. Colbie Caillait opened for John and she was just as good (but I was there for John). Two very talented people one amazing show. The best night I've had in a long time. Very nice break.

I didn't end up taking very many pictures, the show was too good, but you can see some of my others at the Flickr link above. Good Good times.
