Long Time No Post.

So it has been far too long since I have posted. I've worked everyday this week and tomorrow is my first day off since last Friday. Where we last left off I had a huge amount of creative energy that needed to be put into a project. I didn't end up creating as much as I had wanted to that day but I did do a lot of inspiration searching and planning a couple of projects. You can see some of my more recent stuff here.

I also ordered the Ali Edwards travel stamps from Cocoa Daisy, very excited to get those. You can find them here.

In very exciting news, on Monday me and Siobhan went to the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto for the John Mayer concert. It was AMAZING. Continuum has been one of my favorite albums since it came out and there is rarely a day that goes by when I don't listen to at least something from it. Recently I have been listening to the John Mayer Trio cd, so so cool. The show was amazing. Colbie Caillait opened for John and she was just as good (but I was there for John). Two very talented people one amazing show. The best night I've had in a long time. Very nice break.

I didn't end up taking very many pictures, the show was too good, but you can see some of my others at the Flickr link above. Good Good times.

Fired Up.

Today I woke up earlier than I had planned with a call from working asking me if i wanted a shift today that I had already turned down yesterday. Anyway, after getting that straightened out I had a few minutes to breath and realized I was feeling completely inspired. One of those moods where I just feel the need to create something. So refreshing because the past week or so I've been wanting to create something but I've found myself out of the mood and it never got done.

So today I forsee a long day of creating art and telling stories. Hopefully tomorrow or later today I will have some layouts or something to share because I will definitely be making something today. I'll probably do something with this picture. I hung out with my little brother yesterday when the rest of the family was out and we had a little photoshoot on the trampoline, along with pizza and a movie. Super fun.

Tonight I'm heading over to Scott and Kristin's to hang out with some friends for a campfire etc. Very excited about that (and the reason I'm not working today).

Two Beautiful Days

Canada day turne out to be a really enjoyable day. We ended up staying at home all day just relaxing by the pool. This was perfect and the weather was even more perfect. The day was hot, not humid and there was no rain which we seem to be getting tons of lately.
In the evening we went to the fireworks in Holstein. This year they were much better than last year. I brought along the camera and the tripod and took about 100 pictures. Needless to say I had a lot of deleting to do, however I also got some really good ones.
Yesterday I worked all day in the office. And today (another beautiful day) me and my brother trimmed the hedge. It was a major major job considering it hadn't been done in about two years. It was fun just spending time with him and getting a job done.
Now everyone is out at soccer, the phone is ringing and I'm off for worship practice at 8 so that is all I'm going to have time for tonight.

Celebrate.

Happy Canada Day.
We don't really have any Canada day traditions around here, we usually just go with the flow and decide at the last minute what we are going to do. In the past we have gone to Kitchener, gone to Owen Sound, the Holstein park or stayed home. The common thread between these is that they usually involve fireworks. At home we can see the fireworks from Holstein if the night is clear and we know where to look. Now that I am thinking about it, when we had our trailer parked at Silent Valley there used to be fireworks there too.
Fireworks are so celebratory, and they last for a few minutes and then they're gone but they leave you with a high. With excitement.
I think that there needs to be more celebration, celebration about everyday things. Like that perfect day where you can sit by the pool for the afternoon, good friends, getting time to read a good book or a surprise moment of peace and quiet. Things like that should be celebrated more often, things that we often take for granted.
I am learning to celebrate the little things more often and through that I'm finding that I have more gratitude within myself. Its refreshing. Its exciting.
So celebrate Canada today. But celebrate something else tomorrow and the day after. Celebrate something everyday.
