Giveaway + A Great Cause

Last year me and my friends participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure. You can read about that here. The run raises money to benefit breast cancer research and you can read all about the run here. The nursing faculty at our school puts together a team every year and this year is no exception. We had such a great time last year and I am super excited to be participating again. Not only do we get to raise money for a great cause, but really, its another excuse to spend time with my friends how awesome is that? Here is where you come in. I am always so floored at the amazing sense of community between members of the blogging/craft world, even moreso with the support that I find from the followers of my blog and my blog bff’s. So naturally, I come to you asking for your assistance with this great cause.

Any amount you can donate will be super appreciated. I set my fundraising goal at $200 and I would be amazed to see that goal blown out of the water. I know it can be done.

To sweeten the pot a little bit I am going to add a little giveaway to this. I am not 100% sure what the giveaway will be, but I can assure you it will be a good one. I am thinking mixtapes, crafty goods, and possibly some etsy love. I will let you know for sure as soon as I know. If you donate (no matter the amount) leave a comment to tell me you donated, and your name will be entered into the drawing for a cutie little prize. If you blog/tweet/facebook/etc. about this giveaway link me up and you will get an extra entry for each time you do it ie. if you blog about it you get an extra entry, if you blog and tweet about it, you get two extra entries, if you blog about it three times, you get three extra entries etc. Just remember you must donate first (before you blog tweet etc) to get any entries. Just fill out the form and there you have it, you have just donated to a great cause and put your name into the draw for a fun giveaway.

You can donate up until Sunday Oct 03, 2009 (the date of the run) and I will draw the winner on the Monday after that (Oct 4).

I know that in these times it is hard to find the extra money for things like this however every little bit counts, and I believe that by giving to this cause you will be blessed in addition to the many people that will be blessed by your donation.

Dear Blog,

i have not forgotten about you or your followers. I promise. Its not just you either, I have been neglecting other blogs as well, all of the many, many, blogs that I follow. However I have been super busy which explains my absence from the online world. Getting settled back into the apartment, getting back into the routine of school, working on student’s council things you know, the usual. Anyways, I figure within the next week or so I will be back into the routine of things aka blogging.

Here however, is a small list of the things that have been going on lately that have been keeping me from blogging and a few other things, observations etc. 

- for my first class last week i had to read 39 pages from one book, 128 from another, and two studies in preparation. (love how they just me launch right into it)

- i sent out a fun little package to my sweet friend Vanessa. when i receive confirmation that she has the package in her hands i will share it with you. i had so much fun putting it together and there are a few things i want to share with you.

- i am beginning my duties on student’s council (i am VP social for the nursing faculty at my school) so i am responsible for planning all of the fun events that we put on during the year. it is proving to be a lot of work so far, but most of it is fun work and i’m glad to be involved.

-this boy is so stubborn, cute, mischievous, sweet, fun, etc. and i am loving getting to know him. (he is chillin right beside me as i write this lol)

-i need a haircut desperately. it hasn’t been done since may and its getting just a tad too long. i think i’m gonna keep it on the longer side though, but it needs to be touched up. especially since my head is going to be in the books for the next 8 months, it gets a tad annoying hanging in my eyes.

- i have been listening to a lot of these fellows.

-also, this is one of the loveliest things i’ve ever seen. so WATCH IT!

ok i think that is all for tonight. there’s probably more that i have to share with you but it is escaping me at the moment.
