2009.

I don't usually make new years resolutions, and I don't even really sit down and think about goals I have for myself for the new year, however this past week I actually sat down and made a list of things I want to accomplish/do/keep in mind this year. I am pretty happy with the little list that I came up with.

One of the goals I had for myself was to be a better blogger, and as I was writing it I realized that I hadn't made one post yet this year. Time to change that I thought. I REALLY want to be a better blogger this year. It is such and easy way to stay in the habit of writing, journalling, sharing my story and thoughts etc. It can be such a good creative excercise that I really want to ensure I do better at it this year.

Ps- As a bit of a sidenote/shameless plug . . . The layout up there was created using the Freehand Scraps January kit, which is really great. This week I posted a review of this kit over at The Everyday Scrapper so go on over and check it out, then go over and check out Freehand Scraps.

Getting back on track . . . Things are going really well for me, I made it through the holiday season in one piece, and I am settled back into school and (I hate to say it) but approaching midterms already. Anyways, school is super busy as always, but they say that 2nd year is the craziest/hardest year, and that if I make it through this one it is pretty much smooth sailing for the last two years. That is something to be thankful for, however subjective that little tidbit may be.

My first week and a bit back to school I kind of took a break from the internet (except for MSN to keep in touch and school stuff), which was nice. It gave me time to clear my head and just play around with some things for myself and not for anyone else. I was able to reflect on the super inspired month of December (with Elsie's class and my December daily album) and to get out some of the creative energy that was being saved up because of finals. It was a really good experience.

On the flip side of that, the week or so after I was on a big inspiration hunt. I didn't care what form it came in, but I wanted to find it or let it find me. So I wanted to share some of the cool things I found on my inspiration hunting adventure.
1- this blog. desire to inspire definitely reaches its desire to inspire. This blog has sooooo many great things, all centered around interior design. But they feature artists, photographers, really great home decor ideas and more. Such a cool blog, there is always some sort of inspiration to be found there. Just to share a few:

All of these can be found in this post and you can check out more work by these two here.

2- these log bowls from loyal loot collective.
These may be the best things I have ever seen. I am in l.o.v.e.

4- Finally (for now) this blog. I literally spent a whole evening, to night, to early hours of the morning going through the archives. So so much cool stuff.
That is it for me tonight. I'm heading to bed, class tomorrow, then the weekend - which unfortunately means homework this weekend. gah!
xoxo Jeremy
