Run for the Cure.

Yesterday was the CIBC Run for the Cure, benefitting breast cancer research. It was a beautiful day for the walk, cold in the morning but just before the race it warmed right up. There were a ton of people out to run or walk the race and there were as many people there supporting those partcipating in the race. It was really good day, I got to hang out with friends, I had so much fun and even better, I was supporting a great cause.

In nursing school they teach us that advocating for client's and participating in local health related events is a very important part of our job, but not only that, it feels so good to know that you've made a difference no matter how small.

Here are a few pictures of the event and also the new banner is in honour of October which is breast cancer awareness month.

Also here is a link to Susan G Komen for the Cure it has a lot of really good resources and you can donate online to breast cancer research.

News.

Here is the big news I promised would come later this week in my last post.

So for the past little while I've been looking out for positions on design teams hoping that there would be a call, or I would find a team that I felt like I would be a really great part of. So after searching for a while, Samantha contacted me on my blog to tell me about her site. Her site is called The Everyday Scrapper and it offers tips, how to's, inspiration, product review's etc. all for the 'everyday scrapper'. The best thing about Samantha is that she is a college student herself.

So after checking out the site a few times Samantha posted a call for a web assistant. The applicant needed to be able to make at least one post a week, a scrapper, be able to think of topics for new posts, and someone who is able to help decorate the site (banners, tabs etc.). This is exactly what I was looking for all this time. I applied to the call and a couple of days later Samantha contacted me and offered me the position at her site.

Long story short, I am now on the team at The Everday Scrapper and I'm so excited. Samantha really wants to revamp the site over the next year and really try to put it out there for everyone to see. I'm so excited about where Samantha and I will be able to take this site. I will be posting a How To post every Thursday [ish ;) ] and hopefully I will be designing a new banner and some tabs for the content of the site.

So come on over and check us out at The Everyday Scrapper there is a ton of good information over there and we would be glad to have you.

If you have any ideas of something you'd like to see in a How To post, send me an email at jeremyk123@hotmail.com I would love to hear your ideas.

I'm having a low key night, with homework and a couple of movies. My roomate is out with her family this weekend so I'm here on my own for a quiet weekend. The city will be super busy beause it is homecoming weekend around here so I may be holed up in the apartment for the course of the weekend. What are you up to this weekend?

Weekend Wedding.

This weekend I went home, only to then drive for 4 more hours to Peterborough for my cousin's wedding. I didn't mind however. 1- I really enjoy weddings & 2- I love seeing family that I don't get to see very often. The ceremony was lovely and the reception was absolutely gorgeous. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the weekend.
The weekend was so good, and I only wish that it was longer and I didn't have to rush back home to get back to school. Congratulations Doug and Tammara I wish you all the best in your marriage and the years ahead of you.

In other somewhat exciting news, I'm working on something very exciting that I've been looking to do for a while now and things are finally falling into place. Check in again later this week or early next week to find out the details. Until then, I'm off to bed to rest up for a full 7 hour day of classes tomorrow.

Hello Friends.

Hello Blogger Friends.

I am settling back into the school routine and in between homework and homework I'm stopping by for a quick little post. I got this idea from Britney Mellen's blog here. It is currently under construction but it always has some really good stuff. I thought this was such a good way to document the little details about the right now.

Swooning Over: These Pictures . This is Jamie Waters (of CK and TwoPeas fame) and her husband's photography site. They shoot weddings and do it beautifully. There is always some good eye candy here.

Drinking: An iced cappucino from CoffeeTime (better than you'd think)

Listening To: Coldplay's Viva la Vida - almost literally have not stopped listening to it since i bought it (over a month ago) its just that good.

Working On: being a better blogger amongst all of my homework.

Wearing: a new pair of jeans from ae. my andy warhol vintage camera tee and a vest (my current obsession)

Saving Pennies For: Nothing in particular, just generally saving my pennies. oh the life of a student.

Waiting For: The weekend. going home for my cousin's wedding (love weddings) which will be a nice break from all the school that has been taking up all my time these past few days.

Hello September.

So I'm all moved into the new apartment, slowly getting myself unpacked and ready for school. Classes start on thursday so for now I'm just enjoying my few days off.

Unfortunately our internet isn't working so this won't be a long post considering I'm stealing someone's internet. Hopefully later in the week I will be able to post some pictures of the apartment. I'm thinking that it will take a good amount of time for me to get everything in my room and around the place to where I want it to be, to make it comfy. Its already looking good but I think I'll be making small changes throughout the course of the year. I'm excited to see what this space will become in time.

Also, September is here which means that fall is coming, the best season there is. Very excited for the fall season to arrive.

Have a good day.

Well Hello There.

So you may or may not have noticed that i've been MIA for . . .well a really long time. And I've said it before and I'll say it again "I'm a bad blogger". I like doing it, it just gets pushed to the bottom of my list of things to do.

I've accepted it and so should you ; )

That being said, I'm going to try my hardest to get back into it. But with school starting next week we'll see how that goes. I really do want to be a good blogger so i'm going to try to make an extra special effort to put it into my everyday. Or into at least my every other day.

So I've signed up for the lovely
Rachel's art journal class Steady Hand Faulty Heart and also I've reserved my place in her second class. I haven't gotten to creating any pages yet, but my head is just swimming with ideas for some pages to create. The Flickr Group for the class is super inspiring and you should definitely check it out.

As soon as I get to creating I'll be posting some stuff up there so definitely check it out then. I'll probably put some stuff up on here too.

I'm very excited to get to work on some of those pages, but I'm in the process of moving back to London for school. I'm excited to get back but I really hate moving. It is definitely one of my least favorite things to do. However I'm getting into the apartment a few days before school actually starts so hopefully I'll have some time to get settled.

Alright I'm gonna get back to packing which really hasn't even started because I'm organizing. Most importantly my scrap table which is a mess, but really, I love it that way. It seems used, and it helps me to create if all of my stuff is out for me to see all the time.

Jeremy

Also in the spirit of restarting the blogger in me I'm going to work a little bit at making a new banner and getting it up sometime this weekend. I'll definitely need the creative outlet.
